Details of Iran’s capture of US sailors will shock nation: congressman
The nation will be shocked to learn secret details behind the capture of American sailors in Iranian waters earlier this year, a congressman said in an interview Monday.
“I think that when the details actually come out, most Americans are going to be kind of taken aback by the entire incident,” Republican Randy Forbes of Virginia told The Washington Free Beacon.
Forbes said he received a classified briefing on the matter and voiced his frustration that it could be a year before the American public knows all the facts about the sordid affair.
“I’ve had a full classified briefing,” Forbes told the Beacon. “We did almost nothing in response. In fact, to have Secretary [of State John] Kerry actually thank them for releasing our sailors after the way they captured them, I think was a slap in the sailors’ face.”
